De Italiaan maakte weinig indruk tijdens zijn debuutseizoen in de MotoGP in 2022. Hij wist slechts punten te scoren in een handvol races en zat ver achter teamgenoot Enea Bastianini. Vorig jaar was een heel ander verhaal. Di Giannantonio scoorde regelmatig punten en behaalde zelfs zijn eerste MotoGP-zege in Qatar. Voor dit seizoen verhuisde hij naar het team van Valentino Rossi.
