TIPS FOR THE RACE WEEKEND

Check out some useful tips to help you make the most of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

  • The first piece of advice is clear: get there early. And this is especially true on Sunday during race day. Better than waiting in a queue, is to enjoy the atmosphere of the race on the circuit, don't you think? The ideal time to arrive is around 9 am.
  • Plan what you're going to do and where you want to go in advance. If you're going with friends, bear in mind that, especially on Sundays, the mobile phone network on the circuit is overloaded, and phone and data services may not work. Always arrange a checkpoint where you can meet up if you get lost.
  • Don't want to lose track of what's happening on the track? You can listen to the race commentary on Silverstone Radio on 87.7FM. If you don't have a portable radio, don't despair! Merchandise stores are offering them for sale so you can tune in and enjoy the race.
  • Who to cheer for at Silverstone? It's up to you! The battles at Silverstone are often intense, and Marc Marquez has had positive and dramatic experiences on the track. His fan club can traditionally be found in the Village B grandstand. If your heart beats for Italian machinery, head to Abbey B to cheer on the phenomenal Ducati riders. And if orange is your favourite colour, the Club C grandstand is the place to be for KTM fans. Any other suggestions? Follow the fan groups on social media and choose the place with the best atmosphere.
