Der Franzose Johann Zarco hat das MotoGP-Rennen beim Großen Preis der Straßenmotorräder in Australien gewonnen und damit seinen ersten Sieg in der prestigeträchtigen Königsklasse errungen. Der italienische Fahrer Francesco Bagnaia wurde Zweiter und baute seine Führung in der Gesamtwertung auf 27 Punkte aus. Aufgrund einer ungünstigen Wettervorhersage wurde das Rennen auf Beschluss der Organisatoren von Sonntag auf Samstag verschoben.
